Marathon Florida Flight November 27, 1999

I flew from Sarasota, FL to Marathon Florida to photograph Radio Marti's transmitter site.  This is a trip of about 500 miles round trip.  On the way back I took pictures of 1660 in Marco Island, which many DXers are receiving these days.  Hope you enjoy the pictures... Paul Smith NRC

Notice the ATU's are on stilts.  This is one of the finest AM facilities I've ever seen.  Your tax dollars at work.  No expense spared!!

Last but not least is the 1300 site which is next to Radio Marti.  Notice all the junk cars, trailers, and all kinds of metal junk in the near field.  I'll bet you can hear the station when it's wet there. The 1300 site is only 2500 watts though.
